The role of a project manager within the organization is constantly evolving. To stay on top of our own profession and all of the industry updates, it is crucial to continuously educate ourselves; and learn the most recent tools and techniques that could improve the end-result of the project, and to go through the process in the most efficient way. There are various resources available that continue to provide with an up-to-date information for our professional development.

Here are some of the most insightful web sources that I prefer to relate to, day in and day out:

PMI’s official site provides an array of educational and professional information. By becoming a member of PMI, their website not only offers you a discount for your PMP test, but also exposes to PM community and global events. It also refers to a wide range of project management opportunities. It is the world’s leading not-for-profit membership association for the project management profession.

2. www.pmhut.com

PMHut is considered to be the largest database of well-organized project management articles. The articles are quite informative, and keep you up-to-speed with the rest of the project management world. All of the material is contributed by the individuals, who are within the field of project management themselves.

MindTools is here to help you learn the practical, straightforward skills you need to excel in your career. The site breaks down many types of PM tools that are available out there for different stages of a project, relevant for all industries.

4. www.visitask.com

Another relevant “one-stop online resource center for top-notch tips, insights and best practices on project management, project tasks and situations.”

5. www.gantthead.com

It is an online community for IT project managers. Provides an array of resources, tools, articles, and more.
