The Quote Commercial- Elements of Successful Sales Pitch

In the world of networking, you better be able to nail your 30 second pitch or go home. You don’t want to sound like a snake oil salesman, but you do want to be concise in your communications.

This is the 3rd Article in the Pitch to Profits Series. We already asked you if you were Nailing Your Pitch; and we gave you the Guidelines to Writing a good Pitch. We also introduced the different types of pitches.

This article will cover the Quote Commercial or Quote Pitch.

The Quote Commercial starts with a short but powerful quote and ties your services to the quote. This commercial is great when talking about attributes of your company such as Excellence, Quality, Customer Service, etc.

This commercial is best used when talking to a group that hears about your services on a regular basis. They may know that you sell widgets; but they want to know more about the intangibles; the Quote Commercial will help you get there.

The Quote Hook describes an attribute of your company. For example: “Quality”. If you choose quality, use an internet search engine such as Google to find a quote about quality.

The QUOTE BODY is where you are going to tell the audience how your services connect with the attribute identified in the Quote Hook; in this case Quality.

Your body should contain an opening transition statement, closing transition statement, and no more than three sentences with three descriptive attributes. You want to tell the customer the result of working with you as it relates to your quote.

For these sentences stay away from “I”, “We”, “Our”, “My Company”, etc. It is not about you. It is ALL ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMER. So tell them what they will get as a result of your offerings.

The QUOTE CLOSE is by far the easiest and yet the most important element of your 30 Second Commercial. You will provide your contact information, and a closing statement that solidifies your offering.

You will finalize with a Call to Action or Ask, but not both.

You should pick the Call-To-Action if your audience is filled with potential customers. You should pick the Ask if your audience is filled with business networking and referral partners. Generally, the audience of business networking and referral partners meets on a regular basis and will refer business to you. The audience of customers may also refer business to you, but usually this audience consists of potential customers and prospects.

Here is a sample Quote Commercial leveraging the Quality Attribute:

Quality is never an accident. We do it on purpose. And you will find that quality in everything that we do.

You will find quality in the way that you are greeted; to the consistent way that you get excellent service; to the way that our representatives follow up and ensure that you had a wonderful experience. We plan quality every step of the way; because you deserve excellence.

(NOTE: THIS IS AN ASK)

This week we are looking for car dealership managers. The weekend is really busy for them and they don’t want employees to leave so they cater their lunch.

We would like to do that for them. If you know of anyone managing a car dealership, I am looking for that referral. .
