You company is growing and additional responsibilities demand help. You may be new in understanding the hiring process but the added responsibility is that you are going to be a boss too. Someone is going to work under you which means you are not only responsible for your work but someone else’s work too. On top of that, you have to play various roles like that of a recruiter, an interviewer, a negotiator and a legal counsel at the same time. Moreover, the main question is how should you find the suitable candidate?
There are traditional ways of hiring Moomkin and its successful interviewees have implemented and shared with you. They are employment agencies, online job portals, WOM (Word Of Mouth)/Networking and campus selection.
Employment agencies
Using employment agencies for hiring new employees is very common but they are expensive too. The biggest advantage is that there are no hassles involved, as the employment agency takes care of searching a right candidate for you. Usually, an agency first screens a candidate and then refers him/her for the job. With an employment agency, you can hire a candidate temporarily and if that candidate fits the bill perfectly then you can hire him permanently as well.
Online job portals
There are online job portals which are free and paid as well. Fees can vary depending on the site. This way, it is relatively easier for you to hire your first employee. This is the most popular way of hiring an employee as the internet reach is quite wider. The only disadvantage is that you have to spend a great deal of time in screening and selecting the suitable candidate for the job. This process takes a lot of time but this is still the most preferred method.
WOM/Networking
You can spread a word among friends, family, business associates and acquaintances that you want to hire an employee. This process often helps, as sometimes you do end up getting the right person for the job. However, this is more of a gamble as sometimes you are forced to hire a person who may not be fit for the job otherwise your relationships with people may get affected.
Campus selection
This is a good option if you are scouting for fresh talent. A placement office helps in the whole process by recommending the right students to the right company. But do keep in mind, that these placement offices are not well equipped like the employment agencies as they cannot tackle the credit & background checks of the candidate.
