Q: Do you think the education you’ve invested in helped you on the road to success?
Yes, education is a crucial basis for any future success. Knowledge is a universal value with a great power to broaden your mindset and make one flexible and responsive to change.
I could feel the importance of education again when started my masters in real estate several months ago. Apart from obtaining new knowledge and skills, I’m in a position to re-shape my attitude on many other very important issues in my life. The process of obtaining knowledge is endless, so it is vitally important to educate and upgrade yourself in order to keep your mind in fit.

Q: What was the “big break” in your career?
I’ve had the opportunity to experience rather smaller events that have transformed me professionally and personally. In this regard I am very thankful to my family, friends, colleagues and business partners that to some extent dramatically influenced my personality in a positive way. Every person is unique, but I would encourage oneself not to wait for “big breaks” but take the initiative into your own hands and create your own opportunities.

Q: What were some of the obstacles that you had to overcome to get to where you are now? How do you overcome failure?
The biggest obstacle in my professional career was a recent economic turmoil which significantly affected our business operations from the very beginning. Such pressure positively influenced me in becoming stronger and resilient to stressful conditions. Failures are inevitable to any business activities and you just have to analyze your mistakes objectively so to make right decisions next time and move further. Furthermore in order to avoid obstacles you also have to be critical to your successes in assessing the true and objective nature of your successes. Otherwise there is always a risk of self-complacency and further failures.

Q: How do you measure success?
“Success is loving what you do and doing it well”, so my professional success is measured by satisfaction of my clients. I really enjoy making them happy. But this also relates to all people around me, my personal and professional communities because I think the highest value is to be helpful to other people.

Q: What is one advice that you can offer to your readers?
Never resign too early and give up your aspirations and ambitions. Life is challenging but the only way to feel its beauty is to take the challenge and take it to a higher level. And have fun in everything you do!

Q: What do you do for fun?
I play chess in my university chess club and for Team Kazakhstan at www.chess.com
Besides many useful things of chess, that game is a very effective tool to practice your decision making skills. It is a really amazing to see the parallels how life imitates chess.
